The Regular Army O!: Highlights from the Douglas McChristian Collection

In early 2019 Fort Concho National Historic Landmark acquired more than 700 items, including uniforms, hats, belts, holsters, ammunition boxes and various related accouterments, originally used by soldiers on the western frontier. Douglas McChristian, historian, and a 35-year veteran of the National Park Service, who died in 2018, originally owned and built the collection.

Robinson and Crawford will discuss the history of the collection and share the stories behind the objects and the soldiers who served in the post-Civil War army.

Lecture Series sponsored by the FMH Foundation, Midland

Each year the San Angelo Museum of Fine Arts’ Collectors Society sponsors a Lecture Series that is both stimulating and informative. Our guest speakers ---- experts in areas that are relevant to our exhibits and the greater community --- come to San Angelo and make a public presentation. Afterwards members of the Collectors Society join the invited speaker for an enjoyable meal in a fine area restaurant, which is a wonderful opportunity to meet and converse with our distinguished guests on a more informal basis.
