Who do you think you are? Start your discovery at the Genealogy Fair, October 1, 6:00 p.m. at the Community Room in the Stephens Central Library in downtown San Angelo. With dozens historical exhibits and genealogical website demonstrations, the Genealogy Fair promises exciting opportunities for interacting with a wide variety of historical and genealogical organizations and enthusiasts. Plus, the San Angelo Genealogical and Historical Society will be giving away over $1,300 in door prizes including two DNA kits! Sponsored by the Tom Green County Library, the Genealogy Fair is free and open to all who are interested in discovering more about local history and family history.
Attendees can learn about recent advances in using DNA in genealogy and SAGHS genealogists will help budding family historians get started on their family trees and learn how to navigate online genealogy databases. The Tom Green County Library will host an exhibit featuring the free research tools they offer genealogists. Genealogy websites such as Ancestry.com, FamilySearch.org, online newspapers, FindAGrave.com, and many others will be demonstrated. What will you learn about your family?
