San Angelo ISD is excited to
announce the launch of a community-wide literacy initiative led by SAISD called
with an officially
proclaimed City day- San Angelo READS! Day -
Wednesday, December 9th. The goal of San Angelo READS! is to increase
awareness of the importance of literacy and
to inspire a love for reading among
students and the greater San Angelo community.
Did you know that children who
do not read on level by the end of Grade 3 have only a 1 in 8 chance of ever
catching up and are 4 times more likely to drop out of school? There are so
many reasons driving this initiative and why literacy is important, and
future-readiness and success for students is just one of them.
SAISD thanks the San
Angelo Area Foundation and City of San Angelo for their instrumental support
that will be featured on San Angelo READS! Day. Should your organization or business have interest and would discuss further, please send an email
